Warning to check your lottery ticket now as £7.5MILLION still to be claimed
OVER 1.5million National Lottery players have been urged to check their accounts – as £7.5million in prizes have gone unclaimed.
Brits could be sitting on enough unclaimed winnings to fund a weekend away.
The National Lottery has revealed more than 1.5 million players are sitting on untouched prizes, as Brits fail to check their online accounts.
The unclaimed winnings range all the way to £500 (the maximum which can be paid directly into an online account) – enough for a weekend getaway for two.

London has the highest concentration of these lucky – but unsuspecting – winners, with more than 200,000 players sitting on hidden winnings.
The South East and East of England are the regions with the second highest number of players with untouched prizes, at around 190,000.
Andy Carter, senior winner’s adviser at Allwyn, said: “Come on, you’ve played a game, become a winner and yet not enjoyed your win. It’s time to log on and check – it could be you!
“Whether it’s a few pounds or something much larger, it’s money that could be spent on a treat, saved for something special or even used to play again.
“With Lotto making double the number of millionaires, this win in your account could turn into a chance to win a million in just a couple of clicks.”
This comes as Lotto has introduced a new two-round format every draw, which will give players two chances to win.
The new structure will see two sets of six main balls and a bonus ball drawn using two separate draw machines.
So lucky players might have even more chances of winning – as long as they continue checking their accounts.
