‘Turned out to be a lucky day’: Man wins same lottery game 15 years after previous prize

(WKRC) – An Illinois man has won a jackpot playing the same lottery game for the second time in 15 years, claiming a $1.3 million Lucky Day Lotto prize after buying a ticket on a whim.
The Chicagoland resident, who asked to remain anonymous, told Illinois Lottery officials he stopped at an Oswego BP to buy a drink and decided to purchase a Quick Pick ticket, thinking, “Why not?”
The ticket matched all five winning numbers in the June 11 evening drawing to win the $1.3 million jackpot, according to a news release.
The winner said he initially couldn’t believe the result until he scanned the ticket. The victory also brought back memories of another big payday.
About 15 years ago, he won $45,000 playing the same game when it was known as Little Lotto.
The married winner said he plans to use the money to buy a new home and help fund retirement for himself and his wife.
