Three Lotto players share prize as Powerball rolls over to $25m
Three lucky Lotto First Division players have taken home $333,333 each after last night’s draw, while another three players won the same amount with Strike Four as Powerball was not struck and rolled over to $25 million.
The three First Division Tickets were sold at West City Lotto in Auckland, and through MyLotto to players in Auckland and Invercargill.
Another three players each pocketed $333,333 with Strike Four.
Those tickets were sold at Tauranga City Lotto, Pak N Save Clarence St in Hamilton and through MyLotto to a player in Waikato.
Powerball was not struck on Saturday and rolled over to $25 million for Wednesday’s draw.
Ten players also won $37,752 each with Lotto Second Division.
The winning tickets were sold at Pak N Save Kaitaia, New World Stonefields in Auckland, Pak N Save Kilbirnie in Wellington, New World Timaru and New World Centre City in Dunedin.
The remaining winning tickets were won by MyLotto players in Auckland, Waikato, Palmerston North, and Whakatāne, where two winning tickets were purchased.
Lotto urged anyone who bought a ticket from any of these locations to check it- in-store or through the MyLotto app.
Powerball changes on the way
Powerball is set for its biggest shake-up in nearly two decades, with changes to the game taking effect from September 13.
The number of Powerball numbers players can choose will increase from 10 to 14, making the prize significantly harder to win.

The odds of winning Powerball Division 1 will jump from one in 38.4 million to one in 53.7 million.
A new Division 8 prize pool will also be introduced, offering a fixed $12 prize. Lotto said the new division would result in more Powerball winners overall each week, despite the existing divisions becoming harder to win.
Ticket prices will remain the same.
The final Lotto draw under the 10-ball Powerball format will be a Must Be Won draw on Saturday, September 12. If there is no Powerball Division 1 winner, the jackpot prize will be shared among winners in the next winning division.
Tickets for the revamped game will go on sale on September 13, ahead of the first draw under the new format on Wednesday, September 16.
MyLotto will also close early tonight while updates for the new game were carried out. The site will close at 9pm, while Instant Kiwi Online will close at 8.30pm.
Both sites are expected to reopen as usual at 6.30am on Monday.
