Single ticket wins $1 billion Powerball jackpot

(CNN) – Someone became very wealthy Wednesday night with a Powerball jackpot worth $1 billion

The numbers drawn Wednesday were 4, 26, 66, 67 and 69; the red Powerball was 9.

A single ticket sold in Illinois won the jackpot while five other ticket holders in Massachusetts, Arizona, California, Florida and North Carolina won either $1 million or $2 million.

The jackpot-winning ticket was purchased at a Hy-Vee gas station in Quincy, Illinois.

Wednesday’s drawing stood as the eighth-biggest jackpot in Powerball history. It had a cash value of $433 million.

The jackpot was also the largest offered by any U.S. lottery game so far this year.
