Residents on Altrincham road celebrate after postcode win in lottery

The Postcode Lottery picks its lucky winners by drawing random postcodes in a daily draw to win £1,000.

Players in the postcode of WA14 2LU were delighted earlier this week as they were selected for the daily prize. 

The postcode relates to a number of properties on Culcheth Road, Altrincham.

Participants sign up with their postcode and pay £12.50 per month, which enters them into every draw as prizes are announced every day of the month.

Subscriptions to the Postcode Lottery support a number of charities around the UK, with at least 30 per cent of the ticket price going to charitable causes.

Postcode Lottery manages the lotteries for 20 individual charities, each of which has one draw a month.

The lottery is hugely popular nationally and has raised more than £1.5 billion for organisations and projects across the country.
