The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $856 million for Saturday, August 8, giving players another chance at one of the largest prizes in the game’s history.

The winning numbers haven’t been drawn yet. Saturday’s Powerball drawing is scheduled for 10:59 p.m. ET, meaning the official numbers will only become available after the drawing takes place.

According to Powerball, the jackpot currently carries a cash option of $370.7 million before federal and any applicable state taxes.

At $856 million, Saturday’s prize ranks as the eighth-largest jackpot in Powerball history.

The jackpot has continued growing because nobody matched all five white balls and the red Powerball in Wednesday night’s drawing.

The most recent drawing took place Wednesday, August 5.

The winning white-ball numbers were: 14, 20, 59, 60 and 61.

The red Powerball was 25, while the Power Play multiplier was 2x.

Nobody won the jackpot, and there were no Match 5 plus Power Play $2 million winners. However, one ticket sold in Ohio matched all five white balls to win $1 million.

That rollover pushed the top prize to its current $856 million estimate for Saturday.

Players win the jackpot by matching all five white balls, which are selected from numbers 1 through 69, as well as the red Powerball, selected from numbers 1 through 26.

Saturday’s winning Powerball numbers will be drawn at 10:59 p.m. ET.

Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee.

Ticket sales cut-off times vary depending on the jurisdiction and can close one or two hours before the drawing, so players shouldn’t assume they can purchase a ticket right up until 10:59 p.m.

A standard Powerball ticket costs $2. Power Play can be added for another $1 and multiplies eligible non-jackpot prizes.
