Powerball Jackpot Escapes Winners as Saturday Drawing Yields No Grand Prize

The Powerball jackpot increased to an estimated $89.4 million after no ticket matched all six winning numbers during the drawing on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

According to the official lottery results, the winning numbers selected were 8, 37, 40, 44, 65, with a red Powerball of 18 and a 3x Power Play multiplier.

The cash value option for the drawing stood at $37.8 million, as reported by powerball.com.

Although the grand prize remained unclaimed, single tickets sold in California and Georgia matched all five white balls to secure secondary prizes of $1 million each.

Prior to the latest session, a California ticket had also claimed a $1 million prize during the Wednesday, May 13 drawing, which featured the winning numbers 22, 31, 52, 56, 67 and Powerball 15.

The overall odds of securing the top jackpot stand at 1 in 292.2 million, according to officials from the Michigan Lottery.

Lottery data indicates that ticket purchases cost $2 per play, with options to add a Power Play or a Double Play feature for an additional $1 each.

The Double Play option allows participants to enter their numbers into a secondary drawing for a top prize of $10 million, which occurs between 11:30 p.m. and 11:40 p.m. ET.

Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot has grown to an estimated $277 million with a cash option of $120.4 million ahead of its Tuesday night drawing.

The Mega Millions increase followed a Friday night drawing on May 15 where no tickets matched the winning numbers of 17, 23, 25, 52, 61 and Mega Ball 3.

Powerball tickets remain available for purchase in 45 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with deadlines varying by individual state regulations.

The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Monday, May 18, at the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee.
