Powerball jackpot climbs to $748 million for Monday night drawing

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $748 million for Monday night’s drawing, days after an $803 million Mega Millions ticket was sold in Florida.

Lottery players have another shot at a massive payday Monday night, with the Powerball jackpot climbing to an estimated $748 million.

The winner could choose the full jackpot through an annuity paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years or take a one-time cash option estimated at $325.1 million. Both amounts are before taxes.

The winning numbers will be drawn at 10:59 p.m. Eastern time at the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee. Florida ticket sales for Monday’s drawing close at 10 p.m. You can watch the drawing live on CBS12 News tonight.

No ticket matched all five white balls and the red Powerball in Saturday’s drawing. The numbers were 6, 17, 27, 48 and 50, with a Powerball of 5.

Five tickets did win at least $1 million. A Virginia ticket matched all five white balls and included Power Play to win $2 million. Three $1 million tickets were sold in California, with additional $1 million winners sold in Maryland and Texas.

The jackpot has been growing since May 2, when tickets sold in Florida and Texas split a $20 million prize. Monday’s jackpot is the largest Powerball prize offered so far in 2026.

Powerball tickets cost $2 per play. Players select five numbers from 1 through 69 and one red Powerball number from 1 through 26. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 292.2 million, while the overall odds of winning any prize are about 1 in 24.9. ([Powerball][3])

The drawing comes less than a week after another multistate lottery game produced one of the largest winners in Florida history.

A single Mega Millions ticket sold at a Wawa at 14510 State Road 70 East in Bradenton matched all six numbers in the July 28 drawing. The final jackpot was valued at $803 million, slightly higher than the initial $800 million estimate because of actual ticket sales. Its cash value was $345.5 million before taxes.

The winning Mega Millions numbers were 34, 48, 49, 59 and 70, with a Mega Ball of 12.

That prize was the third Mega Millions jackpot won in 2026 and the 10th-largest jackpot in the game’s history. It was also Florida’s sixth Mega Millions jackpot since the state joined the game in 2013.

Florida also holds the Mega Millions record. A ticket sold in Neptune Beach won a $1.602 billion jackpot on Aug. 8, 2023.

Powerball drawings are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
