Point Cook Tops Jackpot Tally

A Point Cook couple who pocketed a life-changing $30 million Powerball prize in February has become the standout local success story in a year where Victoria leads the nation for division one lottery wins.

New national data from The Lott confirms that Victoria records more division one wins than any other state, with 142 winning entries lodged in the 11 months to 30 November 2025. Those entries delivered $280.3 million, with the Point Cook jackpot standing as Victoria’s largest individual prize of the year.

Across Australia, there were 479 division one winning entries during the period, totalling more than $1.5 billion in prize money. While Victoria takes the crown for most wins, New South Wales claims the biggest share of prize money, recording $468.3 million thanks to two separate $100 million jackpots.

The Lott’s postcode breakdown highlights winning hotspots across the country. In Victoria, Burnside/Deer Park/Cairnlea (3023) and Frankston (3199) each sold three division one winning entries. Other states showed similar clusters, with Sydney CBD (2000) selling five wins, several Queensland postcodes selling three each, and Yokine (6060) in Western Australia selling three.

Victoria delivered 142 division one wins, more than any other state. The Point Cook couple’s $30 million Powerball win remains the state’s biggest individual prize in 2025. Melbourne’s North region recorded the most wins, with 34 entries totalling $94.5 million.

Tasmania:

A Tasmanian man claimed a record $70 million Oz Lotto win in June.

South Australia:

SA recorded 33 division one wins, with Northern Adelaide accounting for 10 wins worth $16.5 million.

Northern Territory:

The NT celebrated its largest win ever — a $25 million Powerball prize claimed in Alice Springs in October.

Western Australia:

WA produced four division one Powerball winners, including a $50 million prize. The City of Stirling hosted six wins worth $6.7 million.

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said more than 470 players experienced “the indescribable thrill” of scoring a division one prize this year.

“While lotteries are games of chance where wins can land anywhere at any time, we did see some pockets across the country welcome more prizes than others,” he said.

“Regardless, as many winners tell us, you’ve got to be in it for the chance to win it.”
