North Carolina man wins $100,000 lottery prize

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — An Elizabeth City man received a “nice bonus” after winning $100,000 in the $2 Million Vault game.

Ronald Pippen Jr. purchased his lucky ticket from Zoom In on South Hughes Boulevard in Elizabeth City. Upon realizing he had just won a prize, he shared the news with both his wife and mother.

“I sent a pic to my wife and mom and they both sent back the exact same text which said, ‘What???,’” he said.

He claimed his winnings Monday and took home $72,016 following required federal and state tax withholdings.

“This is a nice bonus for us,” he said.

Pippen plans to use his winnings to pay some bills.
