Nine Quebecers split $25M Lotto Max jackpot
Nine Quebec residents have become millionaires after splitting a $25 million Lotto Max jackpot won in the July 10 draw.
The group, made up of eight winners from Laval and one from the Laurentides, each purchased a share of a Formule groupe ticket sold at Dépanneur Saint-Maxime in Laval.
Eight winners will receive $2.5 million each, while one participant, who bought two shares, will take home $5 million.
“I was happy we won as a group,” winner Élie Sawan said. “I don’t want to be happy by myself.”
The Chomedey convenience store that sold the winning ticket will receive a $250,000 commission from Loto-Québec.
