New millionaire: Cary man wins Fast Play jackpot

A Cary man won over $1.5 million on a Fast Play ticket in the North Carolina Education Lottery.

Back in February, Montfort Faulkner bought a $20 Jackpot 777 ticket from the Publix on Kildare Farm Road in Cary.

At the time he played, the Fast Play jackpot was just over $1.3 million. Because he purchased the more expensive $20 ticket, Faulkner got another $200,000.

After state and federal tax withholdings, he took home a little over $1.1 million.
