Deadline nears for MHADA Lottery applications
The MHADA Mumbai Board has set May 28 as the final date for submitting online applications for the housing lottery. Interested applicants can register through the official portal of MHADA Housing Lottery at https://housing.mhada.gov.in.
The authority had earlier fixed May 14 as the deadline, but later extended it to give applicants additional time to complete the process.

While applications can be submitted until 11:59 pm on May 28, the deadline for paying the earnest money deposit (EMD) online is May 29. Applicants choosing RTGS or NEFT payment methods must complete transactions during their bank’s working hours on the same day.
Massive response from homebuyers
According to MHADA data released on May 25, the authority had received 84,782 applications and over 59,000 earnest money deposits from interested buyers, reported The Hindustan Times. The large number of applications shows the strong demand for affordable housing in the highly competitive property market in the city.
Apartments across Mumbai
The MHADA Lottery 2026 includes homes in several Mumbai locations such as Vikhroli, Goregaon, Borivali, Gorai, Chembur, Bandra, Ghatkopar, Wadala, Powai, Dadar and Mankhurd. Of the 2,640 homes being offered, nearly 1,762 apartments, which is around 66%, are still under construction. These projects are mainly located in Vikhroli, Goregaon and Borivali.
As per the report, 128 under-construction flats are situated in Borivali East, while 85 are located in Goregaon West. The remaining apartments are spread across Kanamwar Nagar and Vikhroli.
Prices range from ₹29 lakh to ₹6.82 crore
The lottery caters to different income groups, with apartment prices ranging from budget-friendly flats to premium properties. The cheapest homes under the Economic Weaker Section (EWS) category are located in Mankhurd and are priced at around ₹29 lakh.
At the higher end, the most expensive apartment in the lottery is located in Tardeo in South Mumbai under the High Income Group (HIG) category, carrying a price tag of ₹6.82 crore.
In a move to attract more buyers, MHADA recently reduced the prices of 1,221 apartments in Vikhroli by 7.5%.
Who is eligible for the MHADA Lottery Mumbai 2026?
To qualify for the MHADA Mumbai Lottery 2026, applicants must fulfil the following mandatory criteria:
You must be a resident of Maharashtra.
You must be at least 18 years old.
Your annual household income must fit into one of these specific brackets:
EWS: Up to ₹6 Lakhs
LIG: From ₹6 Lakhs to ₹9 Lakhs
MIG: From ₹9 Lakhs to ₹12 Lakhs
HIG: Above ₹12 Lakhs
Documents required for registration
Applicants need several documents while applying for the MHADA Lottery 2026, including Aadhaar card, PAN card, domicile certificate, income proof, a mobile number linked with Aadhaar, and income tax returns.
Married applicants are also required to submit spouse-related documents such as Aadhaar and PAN details, while widowed applicants must provide the death certificate of their spouse. Reservation category applicants must provide caste certificates wherever applicable.
What happens next?
As per MHADA schedule, the provisional list of applications will be released on June 10 at 3 pm. Applicants will then be allowed to file claims and objections online until June 12. The final list of accepted applications is scheduled to be published on June 16, while the date and venue for the computerised lottery draw will be announced later on MHADA’s official website.
