Mega Millions Jackpot Has a New Winner. Where the Winning Ticket Was Bought and How Much It’s Worth

Someone in Florida has struck it rich.
One winning Mega Millions ticket, worth roughly $800 million, was sold in the state, the lottery announced July 29.
The winning numbers, which came out in the July 28 drawing, were the white balls 34, 48, 49, 59 and 70, plus the gold Mega Ball 12.
The $800 million jackpot, worth $344.2 million cash, represents the tenth largest jackpot in Mega Millions history and third jackpot win of 2026, following the $536 million one in Illinois on March 10 and the $60 million one in Ohio on March 17.
The July 28 drawing also featured a $5 million winner in Illinois and $3 million in New York and more than 645,000 winning tickets across various prize points, in addition to the big $800 million payday.
This latest jackpot marks the first one since that March 17 drawing — that’s a total of 38 drawings. In that span, there have been approximately 10.9 million winning tickets, with non-jackpot prizes totaling over $273 million.
Mega Millions’ biggest payday of $1.602 billion also took place in Florida, on Aug. 8, 2023. The state has now won or shared six Mega Millions jackpots.
If you didn’t win, there’s no need to lose hope. The next Mega Millions drawing is set for July 31, with the prize resetting to $50 million. If you can’t wait that long, the Powerball jackpot is up to $663 million, and the next drawing in that game is scheduled for July 29.
No one has won that jackpot since May 2, when two tickets — one from Florida, one from Texas — split a $20 million prize.
