Massachusetts Megabucks jackpot hits record $22.5 million

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Megabucks jackpot has reached a record $22.5 million, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery. This marks the largest jackpot in the state’s history.
The cash option for the record Megabucks jackpot stands at over $15 million. This unprecedented prize is generating excitement among residents across Massachusetts.
John, a resident of Chicopee, shared his enthusiasm for the Megabucks drawing. He believes the local lottery offers a better chance of winning compared to other drawings. “I think because it’s a local lottery I think we have a better chance here in Massachusetts lets try and play,” John said.
John also stated his plans if he were to win the jackpot. “I would take care of my children, I would take care of my grandchildren and I would go someplace very quiet,” he added.
Beyond the Megabucks prize, other large lottery jackpots are also drawing attention. The Powerball jackpot is an estimated $416 million. The Mega Millions drawing for Tuesday is up to an estimated $576 million.
