Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Lottery Department has declared the results of the Karunya Plus KN-608 draw today, Thursday, January 29. The draw, held at Gorky Bhavan, near Bakery Junction in Thiruvananthapuram, revealed winners of cash prizes ranging from ₹100 to ₹1 crore.

The Karunya Plus lottery features a ten-tier prize system, which includes a ₹5,000 consolation award. All payouts will be subject to the usual tax deductions and agent commissions mandated by Kerala Lottery rules.

Verification of results

Participants can check the winning numbers on the Kerala government’s official lottery website. The complete list of winners, along with downloadable PDF files for record-keeping, will be published shortly after the draw is completed.

How to claim prizes

Winners are required to present the original lottery ticket within 30 days of the results being announced.

Prizes of up to ₹5,000 may be collected through authorised lottery agents. Amounts exceeding ₹5,000 must be claimed at either the District Lottery Office or the Directorate of State Lotteries, with valid identification.

For top-tier prizes, including the first and second categories, winners must either submit the ticket in person or send it via insured registered post. Claims may also be processed through nationalised, scheduled, state, or district co-operative banks.

Essential documents include:

• Original winning ticket
• Passport-size photographs attested by a Gazetted Officer
• Self-attested PAN card copy
• Valid proof of identity or address (Aadhaar, voter ID, PAN, or ration card)
• Completed prize claim form affixed with a revenue stamp

Taxation and agent commission

A 30 per cent tax will be deducted from winnings above ₹10,000, applying across all major prize categories. In addition, a 10 per cent agent commission is charged on all winning tickets, regardless of prize value.
