Jackson player wins $50,000 with $1 Powerball add-on

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A Powerball player in Jackson turned a $1 add-on into a $50,000 win in the Powerball drawing on August 26, 2026.

According to the Mississippi Lottery Corporation (MLC), the winning ticket, purchased at Fast Lane State Street in Jackson, matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball in the Double Play drawing.

Double Play gives Powerball players another opportunity to win with the same numbers on their original ticket. For an additional $1 per play, those numbers are entered into a separate drawing with a separate prize structure held immediately after the regular Powerball drawing.

With no jackpot winner in Wednesday night’s drawing, the estimated jackpot for August 29, 2026, has climbed to an estimated $119 million, with an estimated cash value of $51.1 million.

Powerball tickets are $2 per play, and players can add Double Play and Power Play for an additional $1 per play.
