Irish punter wins €8.2m Lotto Jackpot – players urged to check tickets

Another three players won almost €90k

One Lotto player in Ireland is set for life after winning a monumental €8,221,849 in yesterday’s main Lotto draw.

This punter scooped the jackpot after matching all six figures and the bonus. And another 3 other players also scooped a lovely €89,430.

The national lottery has confirmed that one of these 5-figure prizes was won in Co. Clare. This winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw from Londis, Bank Place, Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare.

The second Match 5 plus bonus prize winner was in Co. Mayo, purchased on the day of the draw from Lynch’s Centra, Clonbur, Claremorris, Co. Mayo. And the last was in Co. Dublin, who purchased their ticket online on the day of the draw.

The winning numbers from Saturday’s draw were: 23, 24, 25, 42, 43, 46 and the Bonus 37, the Irish Mirror reports.

If you find out you’ve won big, don’t panic! The first thing you should do is sign the back of your Lotto ticket. Then, contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie to arrange the collection of your prize. It’s also advised that you hide your ticket somewhere safe, but also where you don’t forget where it is.

One Lotto winner in Tipperary recently even slept with her winning ticket under her pillow – just to be sure it couldn’t be swiped in the middle of the night.

We’ve seen a number of other big Lotto prizes won in Munster in recent days. This includes a €1m sum won in Kerry from a ticket sold at a family-run village store.

And early this month, the second-ever €1 million scratch card win in the lottery’s history happened in Co. Waterford. It has been confirmed that a syndicate won this massive prize, and has chosen to remain anonymous.

Meanwhile, another online Lotto player in Co Dublin won €30,183 on Friday night after matching five numbers in the main draw. Their winning ticket online on Wednesday, July 22.

The winning numbers called in Friday’s (July 24) EuroMillions draw were: 08, 10, 30, 36, 47 and lucky stars 01, 04.
