Irish Lotto bosses announce store that sold EuroMillions ticket worth over €1m

Last Friday’s EuroMillions draw featured a rare ‘Ireland Only’ raffle, with €1,005,000 guaranteed for one player

Ireland has a new millionaire and they may not even know it yet as the winner of last Friday night’s EuroMillions Ireland Only Raffle, which was worth a life-changing €1,005,000, has yet to come forward.

Lotto bosses revealed the location where the winning ticket was sold this morning, with the Centra The Reeks store at the Reeks Gateway on Tralee Road in Killarney, Co Kerry announced as the winning shop.

The lucky player in Kerry purchased the Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw, Friday August 21. It had the winning raffle number of I-VBD-36131.

Shop owner, John Bowler said: “There’s a great buzz around the store today and we’re absolutely delighted to have sold Friday night’s winning EuroMillions ticket. We have a mix of local customers and visitors coming through our doors every day, so the winner could be anyone.

“I’ve had the shop for more than 20 years and, while we’ve sold some fantastic prizes over the years, this is by far the biggest. It’s wonderful news for Killarney and the wider Kerry community, and we’d like to wish the winner every happiness as they enjoy their incredible prize.”

Last Friday’s EuroMillions draw featured a rare ‘Ireland Only’ raffle, with €1,005,000 guaranteed for one player. As usual, 10 players won €5,000 but the unique raffle ticket number saw one extra lucky player scoop an additional €1 million.

The National Lottery has urged the winner to sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place before contacting the prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie to make arrangements for collection of their prize at Lotto HQ.

National Lottery spokesperson, Emma Monaghan said: “The excitement continues across Kerry as we continue the search for Ireland’s newest National Lottery millionaire. Now that the winning store has been confirmed, if you picked up a ticket at Centra The Reeks in Killarney on Friday, 21st August, now is the time to get checking those tickets very carefully. If you’re holding the winning ticket, sign the back of it, keep it somewhere safe and contact our Prize Claims team!”
