An Illinois Lottery player is waking up a multimillionaire after winning a jackpot worth nearly $3.3 million.
The lucky player hit the $3,287,514 Ultimate Diamond Jackpot on July 26 after purchasing a FastPlay ticket online, per an official press release from the Illinois Lottery.
The Illinois Lottery did not release any information about the winner, who has one year from the date of the win to claim the prize.
According to the lottery’s official website, players who win amounts of $250,000 or greater may request to keep their identities confidential when they claim their prize.

Lottery officials said the prize marks the second-largest FastPlay jackpot awarded since the game launched in 2020. The record remains a $5.75 million Ultimate Diamond Jackpot won in November 2024.

The Ultimate Diamond Jackpot costs $30 to play and starts with a jackpot of $75,000. The prize grows as tickets are sold across Illinois until a winning ticket is purchased.
Unlike some lottery games that allow winners to be paid in equal annual installments over time, FastPlay prizes are paid exclusively as a lump sum.
FastPlay games are sold instantly and do not require players to choose numbers, fill out play slips or wait for a drawing.
According to the lottery, the agency currently offers 38 FastPlay games that can be purchased at retailers, online or through the Illinois Lottery app.
