Harrisburg man plans home remodel after winning $50,000 in Powerball
HARRISBURG, Ark. (KAIT) – A Harrisburg man is $50,000 richer after matching four of the five winning numbers in the July 4 Powerball drawing, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery announced.
Stephen C. purchased the winning ticket at Jordan’s Kwik Stop 9, 900 E. Jackson in Harrisburg.
He stopped at the store after work to buy gas and checked his ticket. The clerk was unsure of the prize amount but told him a winning ticket had been sold in Harrisburg. Stephen confirmed the win after checking his numbers at home.
When he told his wife about the prize, she screamed.
“I didn’t expect it,” Stephen said.
He told lottery officials he purchases tickets three times a week and selects numbers he believes have a high chance of winning. While the numbers are selected randomly, the ASL said he found a lucky combination.
When he collected his winnings Tuesday, Stephen said he plans to use the money to remodel his home.
