CT Lottery ticket sold at Groton supermarket wins $6.8 million Lotto! jackpot

GROTON — A Connecticut Lottery player who purchased a winning ticket worth $6.8 million at a supermarket in Groton has claimed the prize.

The total amounts to the fifth largest jackpot won in the history of the game Lotto!, according to the Connecticut Lottery Corporation.

The winning ticket was bought at Big Y World Class Market on Poquonnock Road for a Feb. 3 drawing, and the prize was later claimed at the lottery corporation headquarters in Wallingford.

Officials said seven additional tickets from the same drawing matched five of the six winning numbers, each winning a prize of $2,263. The prizes must be claimed within 180 days.

Additionally, a regular lottery player won $100,000 in the game Cash5 after buying a winning ticket at Tobacco Land on Amity Road in New Haven, the quasi-public state agency said.
