Burnley community hub celebrates £20,000 National Lottery grant
A youth and community hub in Burnley has been awarded £20,000 from the National Lottery.
The cash windfall will allow the hub, launched two years ago by the Rosegrove Neighbourhood Watch, to develop and expand the services it offers.
Situated in the grounds of Rosegrove Railway Club, the hub has already doubled its capacity with the addition of a first floor and work is underway to fit it out with electrics, units and furniture.

A spokesman for the hub said: “Receiving this £20,000 National Lottery grant is a fantastic achievement and an important investment in our community.
“This grant will enable the organisation to expand opportunities for local residents by creating a welcoming space where young people, families and the wider community can access activities, support services and community programmes.”
Members of Rosegrove Neighbourhood Watch raised the £10,000 needed to make the hub become a reality through a series of events in 2024.

Last year alone activities and events laid on at the hub by volunteers drew 1,984 participants.
The spokesman added: “These achievements represent another important step towards creating a stronger, safer and more connected Rosegrove, where people of all ages can learn, volunteer and thrive.”
And the hub recently welcomed Burnley High School students, Harley Stanworth and and Dominik Mankevic, during their work placement week.
The students supported a seniors’ workshop, helped to clean and organise the hub, painting, litter picking and assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the facilities.
The hub spokesman added: “We are incredibly proud to have welcomed Harley and Dominik to our team. Their enthusiasm, hard work and positive attitude made a real difference and their willingness to get involved demonstrated the positive impact that young people can make within their local community. They’re a credit to their school.”
