(NEXSTAR) – Roughly a week after expanding ticket sales across the Atlantic, the Powerball jackpot has ballooned to an estimated $633 million, making it one of the largest grand prizes lottery players are vying for this year.

While you can’t exactly increase your odds of winning, there’s no denying some numbers seem more due to align and secure you a payout.

At its present estimated size of $633 million, with a cash value of $277.3 million, the jackpot ranks as the largest Powerball prize of the year and the 15th-largest in game history. It also stands as the second-largest lottery prize of 2026, coming in behind the current Mega Millions jackpot, which sits at an estimated $800 million as of Monday.

Regardless of how large the Powerball jackpot is, every line of numbers on your ticket has a 1 in 292.2 million chance of winning.

There are, however, some numbers that have been hotter than others.

Since the Powerball pool was updated to the current status — numbers 1 to 69 in the main pool, and 1 to 26 for the red Powerball — there have been more than 1,300 drawings, according to Powerball.net.

Across all of those, the most frequently drawn numbers from the main pool have been 21 and 61. Both numbers have appeared 123 times. The next four (technically, eight, because of ties) most frequent numbers have been:

Among the Powerball pool, 4 and 14 have been the most prominent, with both being drawn 65 times. They’re followed by 21 (63 drawings), 24 (62), 18 (61), and 20 (60).

Alternatively, the five main pool numbers that have been drawn the least since the 2015 changes are 13, 26, 49, 46, and 34. In the Powerball pool, it’s 16, 17, 7, 22, and 15 that have been drawn the least.

Since the last Powerball jackpot was won in early May, the hottest and coldest numbers are slightly different.

The most frequently drawn number is 44, which has been drawn seven times, last appearing on July 20. Numbers 16 and 14 have both been drawn six times since early May, while five different numbers — 59, 50, 48, 38, and 3 — have each been drawn five times.

In the Powerball pool, 3 and 12 have each been drawn four times. Number 14 has appeared three times, while another five numbers — 5, 13, 15, 18, and 20 — have each been drawn twice.

Every other Powerball number can be considered the coldest, since they have all been drawn only once since early May. The coldest main numbers over the same time have been 54, 33, 23, and 11, as they haven’t been drawn at all.

Does this mean you should pick the hottest numbers, or maybe all of the overdue numbers? 

Some players may swear by one method or another, but neither mathematically improves your odds. That means the numbers drawn on Monday have the same slim chance of being drawn again Wednesday, or next week, or next month.

There may be some truth in playing the same numbers every time and hoping for a win. A South Carolina lottery player recently won a $507,000 jackpot on a state game after playing the same numbers for years. You may also take a lesson from the dozens of players who selected the same row of numbers and won prizes of $1 million or more during an April Powerball drawing.

Whether you rely on a specific set of numbers or prefer a random draw, the next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Monday at 10:59 p.m. ET. Powerball is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the United Kingdom. Tickets sold in the U.S. and its territories are $2 each.
