California Powerball player wins big, one number shy of jackpot
(FOX40.COM) — A lucky California lottery player matched five numbers, but didn’t hit the Powerball in the Wednesday, April 29, 2026, drawing, winning $745,393.
The ticket was sold at Dales Jr. Market in Playa del Rey, in Los Angeles County.
The winning numbers were 3, 19, 35, 51 and 67, with a Powerball of 15.
The Power Play multiplier was 2x.
While there was no jackpot winner in California, there are 45,921 winning tickets across the state.
Tickets sold in Kansas and Indiana won the $143 million jackpot.
The jackpot now resets to an estimated $20 million, with a cash value of $9.1 million for the next drawing on Saturday, May 2.
To win the jackpot, players must match all five numbers and the Powerball number.
The odds of winning are 1 in 292.2 million.
Powerball is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Drawings take place on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:59 p.m. Pacific time and are streamed online.
