Louisiana has 11 new millionaires after historic Powerball drawing
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Several people in the capital region are now millionaires thanks to an historic night for Louisiana Powerball players.
The Louisiana Lottery says on April 29, the state made history with 11 people becoming millionaires in a single drawing, with a combined winnings of $16 million.
Six people won $1 million with Powerball match-5 winning tickets; five people won $2 million with Powerball match-5 + Power Play tickets.
The $134.4 million jackpot was claimed by people in Indiana and Kansas.
“We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our 35th anniversary than with 11 of our players becoming millionaires in just one drawing! We are incredibly excited for all our big winners and look forward to meeting them!” said Lottery President Rose Hudson.
The winning numbers for the April 29 drawing were 03-19-35-51-67, with the red Powerball number being 15.
