A winning lottery ticket worth more than $50,000 was just sold at a grocery store in The Villages over the weekend.
The top-prize winning ticket was sold at the Publix at Magnolia Plaza, which is located at 2135 Everglades Lane in The Villages, for the Florida Lottery’s Fantasy 5 evening drawing on Sunday, May 17,
The winning numbers for Sunday’s evening drawing were 6, 19, 22, 34, and 35. According to the Florida Lottery, the ticket was not a “QuickPick,” meaning the player manually selected the winning combination.
The jackpot for the drawing was split between two top-prize winning tickets sold across the state, resulting in an individual payout of $50,724.99.
The other winning ticket for Sunday’s drawing was sold at the Maher Food Market in St. Petersburg.
As of Monday morning, the prize for both tickets remains unclaimed.
Fantasy 5 is a daily game in which players select five numbers from 1 to 36. Sunday’s split jackpot follows another recent local lottery success from earlier this month.
Earlier this month, a 78-year-old Spruce Creeker claimed aFantasy 5 top prize worth $117,957.17. The woman purchased the winning ticket at a local convenience store in Summerfield.
In January, a winning Fantasy 5 ticket was sold at a Pilot Travel Center located next to The Villages.
