Brit EuroMillions winner loses out on £1m prize as they miss crucial deadline

A MYSTERY lottery winner has missed out on a £1million windfall after failing to claim their prize.

National Lottery operator Allwyn confirmed no valid claim was made for the Euromillions Millionaire Maker prize in the six months since the draw.

The winning ticket was previously confirmed to have been purchased in the Unitary Authority of Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole area, for the draw on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

Despite widespread coverage, the lucky ticket-holder failed to claim their prize before the midnight deadline on Sunday, May 3.

The prize, and any interest earned, will now be passed on to benefit National Lottery-funded projects.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said: “Despite an extensive search for the mystery millionaire, I can confirm that the ticket-holder did not come forward to claim their EuroMillions prize and has unfortunately missed out on this life-changing sum of money.

“However, the money will now benefit Good Causes and add to the £33M raised each week for National Lottery-funded projects, several of which can be found in surrounding the Bournemouth area.”

National Lottery players have helped to support several projects across Bournemouth, including the Bowra Foundation, which received £20,000 of funding in December 2025 for the BOWRA Bag project.

Southbourne Surf Life Saving Club was also awarded £20,000 last year, with a further £20,000 provided to Meredith’s Mission for children diagnosed with cancer in Bournemouth, Poole, and Christchurch.

And £20,000 was awarded to the Hope Housing Training and Support Limited in September 2025.

Each week, British players help to generate around £33million for National Lottery-funded projects.

Over £53billion has been raised for Good Causes since its launch in 1994, funding hundreds of projects in every postcode area across the UK.
