Homemaker wins £10,000 every month for a year after lottery win

She matched five main numbers in The National Lottery’s Set For Life draw on Thursday, July 2.

After 20 years of playing the Lotto, Thunderball and EuroMillions with her regular numbers, she decided to buy a one-off Set For Life ticket and selected her numbers at random.

To her disbelief, that ticket turned out to be the winner.

She now plans to use her winnings to pay off her mortgage and fund her son’s final year at university.

She said: “It’s unbelievable. I’m so happy and really pleased I decided to give Set For Life a go.

“After 20 years of playing my usual numbers, to win on a one-off ticket with numbers I picked at random is just incredible.

“Paying off the mortgage and helping my son through his final year at university means the world to me.”

Liz Styles, winners’ advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said: “Congratulations to our lucky Brighton winner.

“After two decades of playing her cherished numbers, it was a spur-of-the-moment Set For Life ticket that came up trumps.

Players can buy and check their tickets online by downloading the National Lottery app or visiting national-lottery.co.uk.

Retail tickets can also be scanned using the National Lottery app to see if they are winners.

Playing online via the app or website means that your ticket is automatically checked, and you get an email notification if you win a prize
