Powerball jackpot hits $786M, among 10 largest in game’s history
The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $786 million after no ticket matched all six numbers in the latest drawing, giving lottery players a chance to win one of the 10 largest jackpots in the game’s history.

The jackpot for the next drawing carries an estimated cash value of $341.6 million, according to Powerball’s website. Winners can choose between the annuitized jackpot, which is paid in 30 graduated annual installments, or the one-time lump-sum cash option before taxes.
The winning numbers in Monday night’s drawing were 41, 54, 48, 30, 8, with the Powerball number 4. No jackpot-winning ticket was sold, allowing the top prize to continue growing.
Although the grand prize went unclaimed, several tickets matched five white balls to win $1 million prizes, while thousands of players nationwide won smaller amounts by matching fewer numbers.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. EDT. Tickets cost $2, with players able to add the Power Play option for an additional $1 to multiply most non-jackpot prizes.
The largest Powerball jackpot ever won was a $2.04 billion prize claimed in California in November 2022.
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot remain about 1 in 292.2 million, making it one of the longest-shot prizes in American gaming.
Powerball is played in 45 U.S. states, and Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Powerball ticket sales in the United Kingdom began in late July.
