Prop betting is ubiquitous in online sports gambling venues. The problem? It’s ripe for manipulation.
Lottery lightning struck twice for a Toledo man who won two major scratch-off prizes on the same day.
The Ohio Lottery said the man, who wasn’t identified by name in a July 27 news release, played the $50 Millionaire Blowout, winning the top prize of $40,000 a year for 25 years for a total $1 million.
Following his win, “he was feeling lucky” and bought a second ticket and won $25,000, the lottery said.
For the first prize, he decided to take the cash option of $500,000 and will receive $366,250 after mandatory state and federal taxes. He will take home $18,312.50 after taxes for the other prize.
The lucky player intends to use his winnings to take a longer vacation, buy a new vehicle, spend some on his kids and put the rest in the bank, the lottery said.
The winning ticket was purchased at Mike’s Corner Store in Toledo.
