Cork city store which sold €1m Lotto ticket revealed as winner urged to come forward
The lucky winner has yet to come forward and the National Lottery is urging players to check their tickets carefully.
The National Lottery has confirmed that Tom Stanley’s store at Kent Station in Cork city sold the €1 million Daily Million winning ticket from Sunday’s 2pm draw.
The player became Ireland’s latest Daily Million top prize winner after purchasing a Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw.
The winner has not yet come forward, and the National Lottery is urging players to check their tickets carefully.
Tom Stanley’s store manager, Musharaf Hussain, said the shop was “absolutely delighted” to learn that one of its customers had won €1 million.
“Located in the heart of Kent Station in Cork city, we welcome a constant stream of people through our doors every day, whether they’re commuting, heading off on holidays, visiting Cork or simply passing through.
“That’s what makes this win so exciting; it really could be anyone!
“We’re grateful for the ongoing support from our National Lottery sales representative, who is always on hand to help.
“We’d like to congratulate the winner and wish them every happiness as they enjoy this incredible prize,” he continued.
National Lottery spokesperson Emma Monaghan said: “We’re still waiting to hear from our newest millionaire in Cork! Were you heading off on a trip, visiting Cork, commuting through the city or making your way home?
“If you stopped by Tom Stanley’s and picked up a Daily Million ticket, it could be worth a very exciting second look – you might now have a ticket worth an incredible €1 million.
“We’re asking players to check those pockets, handbags, wallets and wherever else tickets tend to hide!”
The Cork winner is being advised to contact the National Lottery Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 or by email at claims@lottery.ie to arrange collection of the prize at National Lottery headquarters.
Elsewhere over the weekend, a player in Co Offaly won Saturday night’s Lotto jackpot of €8,221,849.
The National Lottery said the location where the winning Lotto ticket was sold will be revealed on Wednesday.
