The $30m Powerball jackpot has rolled over yet again, after going unstruck for the 13th consecutive draw.
The jackpot will now climb to $35m for next Wednesday’s draw.
Strike Four also went unclaimed and has rolled over to Wednesday night, where the jackpot will be $400,000.
If the $35m Powerball prize is claimed on Wednesday, it will become the largest win of the year, surpassing the $28.6m claimed by an Ashburton family in early June.
That family, who did not want to be identified but were said to be regular Lotto players, took home the $28m Powerball jackpot, as well as three Lotto first division prizes worth $200,000 each, in the June 3 draw.
“We’re still very much in shock and overwhelmed with the prize. We’re so incredibly grateful for what this is going to do for us, our family and future,” the family’s daughter said at the time.
“There is so much to think about – we want to enjoy our lives and help others – but it all needs a lot of thought.
“The only thing we know for certain right now is that we will be able to buy our first home.
“It’s something we’ve always talked about, and now it’s possible.”
The current Powerball jackpot run began after a Thames player scooped a $4.5m prize on June 6 – the first draw after the Ashburton family’s lucky win.
