  • Pamela and Anthony Hiscocks won the Postcode Lottery’s Millionaire Street prize, which means their neighbors won too
  • They’ll share the winnings evenly with six of their neighbors
  • The couple plans to use their winnings to fund a family cruise and help their granddaughter with her wedding

A couple, who won a house in a sweepstakes nearly 60 years ago, has struck gold again by winning a lottery prize decades later.

Pamela and Anthony Hiscocks are part of a group of neighbors in Melksham, Wiltshire, U.K., who won the Postcode Lottery’s Millionaire Street prize when their ZIP code (SN12 7HB) was selected as the winner.

The Hiscocks will share the £1 million (or about $1.3 million) prize evenly with six of their neighbors, meaning each of the seven households won £142,857 (or about $193,340).

“We’ve been lucky in the past, but this is just amazing,” Pamela, 79, told the BBC, while Anthony, 82, added in an interview with The Mirror, “It’s not real. I’m flabbergasted and gobsmacked.”

“We can pay for everyone to have a once-in-a-lifetime holiday. I’d like a cruise,” added Pamela, who is gearing up for her 80th birthday as well as her 60th wedding anniversary to Anthony this October.

The grandmother also wants to help her 26-year-old granddaughter, Amy, with her own wedding.

“What a wedding we’re going to have. It would be nice to be able to treat my granddaughter and her boyfriend,” Pamela said.

As for the other neighbors who were part of the lottery win, Gary Walker, 57, is celebrating and has known Pamela since she was his school lunch lady, per the BBC.

Lesley, 77, and Philip, 79, are another set of grandparents who also won the same amount in the lottery pool. Lesley has been undergoing treatment for her lung and kidney cancers.

“It’s the first bit of luck we’ve had for a long time. Doctors told me they can’t cure me, but they can give me time,” Lesley said. “After everything, for this to happen is just fantastic.”

“So far, they’ve given me time and that’s all I can really ask for,” Lesley added.

Pamela said she also felt glad that she and Lesley, as well as the other neighbors, were able to share the win together.

“It’s lovely winning with a friend. We’re so close and such good friends. It’s just nice that we can share it together. I’d feel terrible if I’d won and she hadn’t, and she would be the same with me. They’re just lovely people,” she said.

Pamela and Anthony previously won their home 60 years ago after the developers who built it held a sweepstakes competition.

“This was a brand-new estate built by a company in Bath and the first 60 buyers had the chance to win their house in a competition,” Anthony told The Mirror. “We had to write a slogan to advertise selling the houses. Mine was ‘choose your plot and win the lot,’ and it won. The house was worth £3,175 ( or about $4,297) or something like that, but that was three years’ wages in those days.”
