Lucky neighbours scoop £1,000 each in postcode wins in People’s Postcode Lottery

The windfalls have arrived for players in Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen, Pontarddulais and the Llangadog area between 4 and 29 April 2026, putting three more local communities on the lottery map.

Residents in Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen saw postcode SA18 1ST come up in April’s daily People’s Postcode Lottery results, securing £1,000 for every ticket registered there.

In Pontarddulais, players in SA4 8PW have also scooped £1,000 each, while SA19 8EL has delivered a similar four‑figure boost to ticket‑holders in and around Llangadog.

Because prizes are paid per ticket, anyone playing with more than one subscription at those postcodes would have collected a multiple of the £1,000 pay out, meaning some households will have seen several thousand pounds drop into their bank accounts this month.

These three postcodes were all drawn in the People’s Postcode Lottery’s weekday Daily Prize schedule, which hands out £1,000 per ticket to 20 winning postcodes across Britain every day.

The daily draws run alongside a series of larger weekly and monthly draws, so while the Guardian‑area wins are not part of a headline Postcode Millions jackpot, they still represent a significant and very welcome boost to the lucky neighbours involved.

People’s Postcode Lottery is a subscription lottery in which players pay £12.50 a month and are automatically entered into all the relevant draws. Tickets are based on the player’s home postcode, which means that when a winning postcode is announced, whole streets or clusters of nearby homes often celebrate together.

As well as the £1,000 Daily Prize, there are weekly “Millionaire Street” draws that create a £1 million winning postcode, plus regular £250,000 prizes and several Postcode Millions events each year in which one postcode sector shares a multi‑million‑pound jackpot.

The April success stories come as People’s Postcode Lottery confirms that £20.2 million must be won in May’s draws, with players invited to sign up before midnight on 30 April for a chance to claim a share.

With daily, weekend and major draw prizes all feeding into that total, there will be plenty of opportunities for more postcodes to strike it lucky – and readers in places like Ammanford, Llandybie and Cross Hands will be hoping their streets could be next.
