High Court awards full indemnity costs in £1.3… – Landmark Chambers

The High Court (Mrs Joanna Smith DBE) has awarded the
Gambling Commission indemnity costs against TNLC and Northern & Shell,
following judgment in TNLC v Gambling Commission [2026] EWHC 891 (TCC). The costs
order applies to the entire proceedings.
The Court also ordered TNLC to make payments on account of
75% to the Gambling Commission and 70% to the Interested Party (Allwyn), and
dismissed TNLC’s application for permission to appeal to the Court of Appeal.
The costs order has been reported in the FT (paywalled).
This was the third successful outcome for the Gambling
Commission, following the dismissal of earlier proceedings brought by Camelot
UK and International Game Technology.
Barney McCay acted for the Gambling Commission and was
instructed by Hogan Lovells and Capital Law.
