$1 turns to jackpot for Wake County man in NC Lottery’s Cash 5 game

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) — Even with the odds against him at 1 in 962,598, a Wake Forest man became a jackpot winner on June 21.

Vincent Ximines spent $1 on his lucky Quick Pick ticket using online play. When it came time for the drawing, that ticket matched all five balls in the Cash 5 game, netting him the $685,796 jackpot.

On Tuesday, Ximines collected his winnings at the NC Lottery Headquarters in Raleigh. His take-home winnings after required tax withholdings were just under half a million dollars, totaling $493,842.

The next jackpot that can be won will be set at $100,000 in Wednesday’ for $10,0’s drawing.
