How to Claim Thai Lottery Prizes & Tax Deductions
0.5% Stamp Duty Withholding
Winning tickets issued by the Government Lottery Office (GLO) are subject to a nominal 0.5% stamp duty on winnings (or 1% for Charity Lottery tickets). No additional personal income tax is assessed in Thailand on national lottery payouts.
Claiming Venues
Prizes under 20,000 THB can be cashed at local authorized retail agents with a 1–2% vendor service commission. Major prizes (including the 6,000,000 THB 1st Prize) must be claimed in person at the GLO Headquarters in Sanambin Nam, Nonthaburi (Bangkok).
Validity Period
Thai lottery tickets are valid for claims for up to 2 years from the official draw date. Unclaimed prize monies are returned to the state treasury for public social development funds.
