Unclaimed Lottery Prize

Croydon player has won £120k for the next year – but hasn’t claimed their prize

The National Lottery is urging players in Croydon to check their tickets after a winning Set For Life entry matched all five main numbers in the April 2 draw – but the prize still hasn’t been claimed.

The winner has until September 29 to come forward and claim the prize, which amounts to a total of £120,000 paid in monthly instalments over 12 months.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said: “We’re keen to track down our mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their incredible prize.

“This is life-changing money which could make such a difference to somebody’s life.

“If you play Set For Life and bought a ticket in retail for the 2 April draw, I urge you to check it.

“Think back to what you were doing on this date.

“Do you live in Croydon or were you passing through visiting family or friends – this prize could be yours!”

The winning ticket, purchased from a retailer in Croydon, matched the numbers 2, 3, 8, 27, and 39.

Anyone who believes they may have won but has misplaced their ticket can submit a claim in writing to Allwyn within 30 days of the draw.

If the prize remains unclaimed by the deadline, the money and any interest accrued will be distributed to National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.

As with all National Lottery draws, winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize.

Those with queries or who believe they hold a winning ticket are encouraged to contact the National Lottery Line on 0333 234 5050.

Players can check their tickets online via the National Lottery app, the website, or by scanning retail tickets with the app.

Allwyn may, at its discretion, pay out prizes for lost, stolen or destroyed tickets if a written claim is submitted within the required timeframe and supported by sufficient evidence.

Since its launch, the National Lottery has raised more than £53 billion for good causes, funding hundreds of projects in every postcode area across the UK.

Each week, players help generate around £33 million for community schemes, charities, and public initiatives.

If the Croydon winner does not come forward in time, their windfall could end up supporting one of these projects.
