San Antonio on a $2 Million lottery winning streak; the winners are keeping it a secret

SAN ANTONIO – Someone from San Antonio is a whole lot richer today after claiming a $1 million scratch off prize. They were playing Texas Lottery’s Monaco Millionaire.

The winning ticket was purchased at Stop and Shop, located at 830 N. New Braunfels Ave. on the Near East Side. The winner chose to remain anonymous.

The store that sold the ticket may be eligible to receive a $10,000 bonus through the Texas Lottery’s Retailer Bonus Program.

This marks the game’s second top prize of $1 million to be claimed out of four total available. Monaco Millionaire features more than $72.6 million in total prizes, with overall odds of winning any prize standing at 1 in 3.74, which includes break-even prizes.

The win marks the city’s second million-dollar scratch-off payout in less than a week. On May 20, another anonymous San Antonio player claimed a $1 million prize from the 200X The Cash game, which was purchased at Times Market on South Hackberry Street.

The back-to-back million-dollar wins cap off a remarkably lucky year for San Antonio lottery players. Earlier this year, local players secured several other major payouts, including an $850,000 Texas Two Step jackpot on Jan. 1, and a $500,000 scratch-off prize on Feb. 24.
