$5M Texas Lottery jackpot claimed from Texas kolache, taco shop
Texas Lottery scratch-ticket games available at a Chevron gas station.
You never know when a gas station fuel-up could result in life-changing money. Although it does seem to happen more often than you’d think.
The winning ticket was purchased at a Buccaneer Food Store, a popular fuel station with a kolache and taco shop, located at 1309 Prairie Lea St., Brenham, TX 77833. That pirate-named pit-stop could also come away with its own $10,000 thanks to the Texas Lottery’s Retailer Bonus Program. The program offers retailers bonuses ranging from $5,000 to $250,000, depending on the type of winning ticket sold.
The winning ticket was the first of four top prizes worth $5 million available from the $5 Million Titanium Black game. More than $448.6 million in total prizes is waiting, with the overall odds of winning any prize at 1 in 3.89. Prizes start at $150, according to the news release.
The Sealy winner marks the third scratch-off jackpot claimed in April — joining $1 million winners from Henderson and Port Lavaca — and the seventh jackpot overall, following a $41 million Lotto Texas ticket sold in Mesquite and $1 million Powerball winners in Fort Worth, Everman and Aurora.
