$2 million Powerball prize claimed in Arkansas; $1 million ticket remains unclaimed

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — An Arkansas resident is $2 million richer after claiming their lottery prize this week, while another ticket worth $1 million remains unclaimed.

The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery said in a news release that a person from Beebe won $2 million in the April 29 Powerball drawing.

The winning numbers were 3, 19, 35, 51 and 67, and the Powerball number was 15. The Power Play multiplier was 2.

The winner claimed their prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on May 20, and they have elected to remain anonymous, according to lottery officials.

The ticket was bought at the BB One Stop, located at 20 Highway 64 W. in Beebe.

The winner said they typically use birthdays and other important dates for winning numbers. This time, the player created a pattern to choose their numbers.

After purchasing the ticket, they went home and fell asleep without checking their ticket. The next day, the player saw a news story at work about the winning ticket being sold in Arkansas and looked up the numbers.

To their surprise, the player matched all but the Powerball number for a $1 million prize. However, they bought the ticket with Power Play for an additional $1, doubling the prize to $2 million.

One ticket still unclaimed

Another ticket sold for the April 29 drawing, worth $1 million, is still waiting to be claimed.

The ticket was purchased at the Maverik gas station located at 2894 W. Walnut Street in Rogers.

The winner has 180 days from the draw date (until Monday, Oct. 26) to claim their prize.
