Irish EuroMillions player just one number off €92m jackpot as €500k prize won

An Irish EuroMillions player came agonisingly close to landing the €92m jackpot, while another lucky ticket holder scooped a €500,000 top prize.
The winning numbers for Tuesday night’s EuroMillions draw are in, and while there was no outright winner of the eye watering €92,558,766 jackpot, the draw delivered a heart stopping twist for one Irish player who came agonisingly close.
Missing out by just a single number, the player still scooped a consolation prize of €113,717 for correctly matching all five main numbers, plus one of the two lucky stars.
The winning combination was 11, 14, 19, 36, 49 and lucky stars 6 and 7.
National Lottery bosses have issued an urgent appeal for players to check their numbers carefully. As part of that appeal, they have revealed details about how the golden ticket was purchased.
It has been confirmed that the EuroMillions €113,717 prize winner bought their ticket online.
And it wasn’t the only big win for Ireland, as the top prize in the EuroMillions Plus draw was also claimed. One player managed to match all five numbers – 37, 41, 44, 47 and 48 – to win the €500,000 jackpot.
National Lottery bosses have confirmed that this ticket was also purchased online.
Meanwhile, in the Ireland only raffle, 10 players also won €5,000 each.
These winners are among over 42,000 people in Ireland who scored prizes in the EuroMillions and Plus games. A National Lottery spokesperson said: “There was no winner of the EuroMillions jackpot. In total, over 42,000 players in Ireland won prizes in the EuroMillions and Plus games, including one winner of the match 5 + One lucky star receiving €113,717. The winning ticket was sold Online.
“There was one winner of the Plus top prize. The winning ticket was sold Online.”
