Shreveport woman claims $2 million Powerball prize in Louisiana Lottery – AOL

BATON ROUGE, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A Shreveport woman has claimed her portion of the record-breaking April 29, 2026, Powerball jackpot. Louisiana set a record for the highest number of tickets to hit at least $1 million in a single drawing, with 11 people becoming millionaires that night.

Kimberly Horton of Shreveport claimed her $2 million prize at Lottery headquarters on May 11, 2026, taking home $1,460,000 after state and federal tax withholdings. Lottery officials say she purchased her ticket from the Raceway 6802 located at 3701 Hearne Avenue in Shreveport.

Another person from Shreveport, Antonio Bradford, claimed his $1 million prize on May 5, 2026, taking home $730,000 after taxes. He purchased his ticket from Airport Chevron, located at 5203 Monkhouse Drive in Shreveport.

Ironically, the Raceway 6802 and Airport Chevron are owned by the same person, Khadka Kumar.

“I really feel so excited and happy for my customers who won; what a blessing to them and their families,” said Kumar.

Kumar is also a winner. The owners of stores where winning tickets are sold receive a bonus that is equal to 1% of the prize amount. So, Kumar will receive a total of $30,000 for both winning tickets sold at his stores.

According to Louisiana Lottery officials, eight of the 11 winners have claimed their prizes.

“Congratulations to each of these winners. Together they represent millions of dollars won right here in Louisiana,” said Louisiana Lottery President Rose Hudson. “We still have three unclaimed winning tickets from this historic drawing, and we urge those holders to sign the backs of their tickets immediately to protect their claim. We can’t wait to meet them and celebrate their wins.”

Winning tickets must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date.
