Four more Louisiana winners claim earnings from $143M Powerball drawing

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Four more people claimed portions of the historic $143.4 million Powerball drawing.
According to Louisiana Lottery officials, after the April 29 Powerball drawing, the total of winning tickets rose to 11.
Dean Francis of Denham Springs claimed his $1 million prize on Thursday, May 7. He took home $730,000 after taxes. The ticket was bought from a RaceTrac on Juban Road in Denham Springs.
Karla Browning of Baton Rouge claimed her $2 million prize on May 11. She took home $1.4 million after tax withholdings. She bought her ticket from the Circle K on O’Neal Lane in Baton Rouge.
A Shreveport woman, Kimberly Horton, also claimed a $2 million winning ticket on May 11. She bought her ticket from a Raceway on Hearne Avenue in Shreveport.
Jacquelyn Green of Alexandria bought her winning $2 million ticket from Tobacco Plus on North Mall Drive in Alexandria.
“Congratulations to each of these winners. Together they represent millions of dollars won right here in Louisiana,” said Louisiana Lottery President Rose Hudson. “We still have three unclaimed winning tickets from this historic drawing, and we urge those holders to sign the backs of their tickets immediately to protect their claim. We can’t wait to meet them and celebrate their wins.”
Players must be at least 21 years old to play the Powerball. The current estimated jackpot is sitting at $131 million. The next drawing is on Saturday, May 23.
