Connecticut Lottery player wins $30K in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing

The player won $30,000 in the drawing. The Mega Millions player matched four white balls and the Mega Ball to win an initial $10,000 prize. The prize then was tripled due to a 3X multiplier used on the ticket.

The prize had not been claimed as of Wednesday morning, according to Connecticut Lottery’s website.

The Connecticut Lottery player was one of two Mega Millions players in the U.S. to win a $30,000 prize during Tuesday’s drawing, according to Mega Millions’ website. The odds of winning $10,000 in the Mega Millions is 1 in 893,761, according to Connecticut Lottery.

Tickets for the Mega Millions game start at $5, and 3,057 winning tickets were produced in Connecticut for Tuesday’s drawing.

To play Mega Millions, players must pick six numbers from two separate pools of numbers — five different numbers from 1 to 70 (the white balls) and one number from 1 to 24 (the gold Mega Ball) — or select Easy Pick/Quick Pick. Players win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing. In the event of multiple jackpot winners, the jackpot prize will be shared.

Mega Millions drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday.
