Geographic data released by lottery officials shows a high concentration of winners in the Midwest and South. Among those who matched five white balls, 27 players utilized the Power Play option to double their winnings to $2 million each. Louisiana and Indiana each reported five of these high-tier winners.

An additional 62 tickets matched five white balls without the multiplier to earn $1 million. Indiana and New Jersey recorded the highest volume of these winners, with 14 tickets sold in each state. In Michigan, one $1 million ticket was confirmed as an online purchase by a player registered in Ortonville.

Lottery officials noted that Wednesday’s volume of winners significantly outpaced previous multi-winner events. By comparison, a drawing on September 6, 2025, resulted in only 20 tickets winning $1 million or $2 million alongside two jackpot winners.

Winners have exactly one year from the drawing date to claim their prizes. For the jackpot, participants may select between a 29-year annuity consisting of 30 graduated payments or a single lump-sum cash payment, as reported by the Powerball website.
