A South Dakota trust claimed a $78 million lottery prize in the nick of time!
The Texas Lottery announced that the Jua-Ri Trust Agreement Trident Trust Company Inc., of Sioux Falls had claimed the multi-million dollar lottery prize in a press release on Monday, May 11.
The Texas Lottery noted that the trust came forward on May 8, just six days before the winning ticket was due to expire on May 14.
The winning ticket was drawn on Nov. 15, 2025, and per lottery rules, the winner had 180 days from that date to claim their winnings.

The winning ticket, purchased at Gordon’s Bait & Tackle in Brownsville, matched all six of the numbers drawn (7-17-23-28- 39-48).
The jackpot was worth an estimated $78 million, if the winner chose to get it paid out in annuity. However, a one time cash payment was choose instead, amounting to over $43 million before taxes.
The winning jackpot marked the sixth largest in Lotto Texas history.
The Texas lottery is played by picking six numbers from one to 54 and offers multimillion-dollar jackpots, according to the lottery website. For $1 more per Play, a player can select the Extra! add-on feature for a chance to win up to $10,000 more on non-jackpot prizes.
