Kerry shop revealed as winner of euromillions lotto

A Co. Kerry shop owner has spoken about the local excitement after it was revealed that a EuroMillions ticket worth more than €1 million was sold in Killarney.

The National Lottery confirmed the winning €1,005,000 ticket from Friday night’s special Ireland-only raffle was purchased at Centra The Reeks, Reeks Gateway on Tralee Road.

The lucky player bought their Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw, Friday, August 21st.

Their winning raffle number is I-VBD-36131.

Store owner John Bowler said the news has generated plenty of excitement among customers.

‘There’s a great buzz around the store today, and we’re absolutely delighted to have sold Friday night’s winning EuroMillions ticket,’ he said.

‘We have a mix of local customers and visitors coming through our doors every day, so the winner could be anyone.’

Mr Bowler has owned the shop for more than 20 years and said that while it has previously sold tickets carrying significant prizes, the latest win is its biggest to date.

The special EuroMillions event guaranteed one Irish player a prize of €1,005,000.

Ten players ordinarily win €5,000 through their unique raffle numbers, but one of those prizes received an additional €1million during Friday’s Ireland-only event.

National Lottery spokesperson Emma Monaghan has urged anyone who bought a ticket at the Killarney store on Friday to check it carefully.

‘If you’re holding the winning ticket, sign the back of it, keep it somewhere safe and contact our Prize Claims team!’ she said.

The winner has yet to come forward to claim their seven-figure prize.
