Two lucky Brits scoop £1m EACH – but hunt is still on for a third lottery winner
TWO lucky Brits have finally come forward to claim their Lotto jackpots – but the hunt is still on for a third winner.
The two ticket holders each won £1million after matching five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball in Round 2.
One winner bought their lucky ticket in Wakefield for the draw on August 5 while the other purchased their winning ticket in Aberdeenshire for a draw on August 8.
Another lucky ticket holder has until September 9 to claim their £1 million.
The winning EuroMillions ticket was bought in Hartlepool for the draw on March 13.
Lynn Devlin, winner’s experience lead at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said: “We’re delighted that both of these mystery winners have now come forward to claim their £1M prizes.
“It must be an extraordinary feeling to go from not knowing you’ve won to discovering you’re a millionaire and starting what promises to be a life-changing journey.”
The lucky pair join a growing number of Lotto winners, including one ticket holder who recently claimed a £4.3 million jackpot won on August 19.
“It’s been a remarkable few weeks for Lotto, and we’re excited to support these winners as they begin the next chapter of their lives,” added Lynn,
Once validated and paid, the ticket-holders will decide whether or not they wish to share their news.
There will be no information released about whether the winners are individuals or syndicates, or where the tickets were purchased, unless the winners choose to go public.
Earlier this year, a £9.2 million jackpot was claimed, marking the biggest win since the launch of the lottery’s new campaign.
